Alexey Brodovitch

Intro
This series of three typography posters was created for an advanced typography course, inspired by the work and legacy of Alexey Brodovitch. Each poster explores a different aspect of his influence, focusing on his achievements, the history of his career, and his lasting impact on modern editorial design. Through this series, I aimed to reflect Brodovitch’s experimental approach to typography, particularly his use of dynamic layouts, strong visual hierarchy, and the integration of image and type. The designs emphasize movement, contrast, and intentional composition, drawing from Brodovitch’s work as art director of Harper’s Bazaar. By pushing scale, spacing, and alignment, I explored how typography can function as both content and image. This project demonstrates my ability to translate historical design influence into contemporary visual solutions while maintaining clarity, structure, and conceptual depth.
